As I recollect it, the vaccines are based on sequencing of the prevalent strain in June 2020.
Been a few variants since then.
This is also why they have seasonal flu vaccines. Need to always update.

That’s a sure sign of idiot-oriented “news”.
Over half of US adults have been vaccinated according to NPR. If 100% of adults had been vaccinated, then 100% of covid cases would be in vaccinated people. That doesn't mean anything except some people can still catch it.
Vaccinated people are probably taking a lot more risk than unvaccinated people, thus getting exposed more. I don't think it is surprising at this point that more vaccinated people are getting sick than unvaccinated.

I’m calling b.s. on this one. 60% of new patients being vaccinated is a higher percentage than of the vaccinated period. I could buy that it osn’t as effective as advertised. I don’t buy that vaccination actually makes it more likely that you get the virus.
