They needed a “study” for that? Haven’t they seen any of those movies where the doctor is about to cut off a limb, or remove a bullet, and they make the patient drink a crapload of booze to numb the pain? That would have been a lot cheaper than money wasted on a “study.”
I think it would be helpful if we could find out the exact mechanism by which it dulls pain stimuli and put it into a pill that doesn’t damage your liver and doesn’t make you intoxicated. The analgesic effect is pretty incredible actually. Our brightest shientists should be all over this.
