Spent a few days in the hospital and her foot turned black and purple. No long term effects.
an 8” cotton hoe is much better solution.
Does not smell like chicken.
Snakes all stink.
Are you near sweetwater? I hunted near there in the mid 90’s., the snakes were thick then!
I’ve only eaten it once. It tasted OK but left a funny aftertaste and it kinda reminded me a chicken neck. Once was enough.
WENT JUST AS YOU’D EXPECT...FOR SOUTHERN CAL! WOULDA WORKED JUST FINE IN TEXAS...’COURSE YOU’D HAVE TO HOLD HIM DOWN ON THE GRILL UNTIL HE STOPPED SQUIRMING
...BEEN TASTY, TOO!
I’m not to sure. Back when I got bit they called it Horse Serum and it was the horse part I was allergic to. I’ve been hit by rattlers four more times since that day but never got the venom delivered that I did that day. First bite was behind the left knee and that was a full dose from a big snake. the others I was lucky and didn’t get any venom transfer. To be honest I really don’t know what would happen if I got a bad bite, the antivenom is different now.
Thanks. I love Ogden Nash.
A long-handled shovel for chopping the snake’s head off is a better tool. It’s too bad that the man felt he had to do something about the snake, who was just being a snake. But if you have vulnerable pets or little kids, you have to protect them.
If I was starving I would eat it. And it might also depend upon how it was prepared.
All I was around had a bad smell.
My Palimino mare, can smell one from 30 feet. She wants nothing to do with them. And she is very smart. Smile.
I don’t dislike all snakes, but rattlers are another thing. They are pretty common at our farm.
You’re supposed to skin the snake before you barbecue it (deep frying snake should be a crime ‘cuz it makes it taste like chicken).
