these idiots need to look in a mirror...
bwi airport is in anne arundel county...
They can just stop selling petroleum products in Maryland.
Publicity stunt. Donât you have to prove damages to have a lawsuit?
First thing to do - cut of their natural gas and gasoline supplies.
We live here. Pittman is a far left community organizer hack. We have a rino in Hogan as governor, but Pittman even begrudgingly goes along with hogans COVID recommendations. The restaurants in AA county had to threaten to sue him. He needs to be removed next year. Sickening that they wonât spend this money to help the homeless in the area and the minorities they say they care about instead of a bunch of high priced lawyers for a lawsuit that isnât going anywhere.
Yep.
I would certainly hope so.
Welcome to Maryland.
The person launching the lawsuit is "her" county executive, Steuart Pittman.
My sister lives there, but he’s a retired school teacher, so she probably loves this. I used to say that I’d like the catastrophic global warming issue to go to court, since the court would require seeing both sides of the issue. I’m backing off on this, though, since recent rulings have shown a lack of serious adults in many judicial positions.
I’m actually still in Maryland, but my icon is Florida, because I intend to be moving there by the end of the year, hopefully prior to the beginning of the Woke Civil Waterworks.
This is a virtue signaling lawsuit. If they play their cards right, they might get a blessing from St. Greta and gets tons of publicity and donations to the cause.
If they sue they might have to say what damage they have caused....
Not like Biden he will just say climate change and we will all have to obey
Anne Arundel Co. is filled with asinine fanatics who are look9ng for a payday. The sun causes ice cap melt which raises the sea level. It has been happening for a hundred thousand years. Countless port cities have been discovered in 400 feet of water. Industry did not do that. The sun did. Sue the sun!
The lawsuit looks for compensatory and punitive damages, and includes public-nuisance and other claims. The suit names 26 plaintiffs, including industry giants BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell Oil, Citgo and the American Petroleum Institute.

Companies which, should they lose this frivolous lawsuit, will be raising their prices to compensate for their financial losses.
American Electric Power Co., et al. v. Connecticut, et al., No. 10-174 (copy and search)
When Michigan sued the tobacco industry, the attorneys who represented the state collected $32 million........
Absolute B.S. propaganda!
Been living waterfront to the Chesapeake Bay (in AA Co) since 1989 and know for certain that the water level has NOT risen any fraction of an inch...
Except during hurricane Isabel when we ended up with 5-feet of water in the bottom level of the house...
Extremely sad days... 4-of-16 cases of ammo ended up under mud & water for 3-days before getting all the water pumped out...
I agree.
Maybe Chevron can do a repeat of their Ecuador lawsuit and charge Anne Arundel County executives and lawyers under the RICO Act.
So ridiculous. I only had to pay 3 years and then moved to Florida. Much saner state for sure.
