I’d been one of those kids that would have carried a copy of Atlas Shrugged around to annoy those witch doctor educators back then if I knew how much grief it could cause.
However, I did keep copies of James Burke’s Connections and Day The Universe Changed on hand. Those drove the airhead US history teacher nuts.
That series came to the silly conclusion that as our view of the universe changed then, in fact , the universe changed. If you believed that then 2000 years ago Earth , Air , Water and Fire were the only elements at the time. Somehow in spite of everybody looking high and low for it they never did find the Philosophers Stone.
