Tebow should run for Rubio’s seat. The DeSantis gig doesn’t open until 2028.

I wish Tebow the best but I wish he’d grow up and realize he needs a transition from professional sports. I figured a wife would talk some sense into him. He could achieve so much more as an ambassador for Christ instead of a too-old football or baseball player who isn’t good enough to stick with the best leagues in the business. A sad ending to a once-storybook career.

I think both Tim and Trevor each only lost 1 game in their college careers - I’m sure someone will fact check that ...

Just a cursory glance at Twitter from the earlier talks with the Jags reveals at least a dozen defensive linemen in the NFL talking about bounties on Tebow this upcoming season.

Some enterprising individual, if those were forwarded to the NFL home office, the NFL rules mandate they must investigate personal threats to players AND open an invest on every NFL player who threatens a bounty.

The NFL is entertainment, not political theater. Tebow is a great add for that reason.

“I wish Tebow the best but I wish he'd grow up and realize he needs a transition from professional sports.”

It sounds as if you have experience as a life coach.

Just for the tally book, what are your credentials?

The Gators lost several games under his leadership. Not many, but more than one.

“NFL is desperate for viewership so they'll do anything to get the Right back.”

I seriously doubt the NFL is behind the move to get Tebow back on the field.

If Tebow is successful with the Jags - and I believe he will be - it will further expose the long-time corruption of the league.

One reason I believe Tebow will be successful is because I want to believe.

Tebow had the reputation of being a super hard worker who took training very seriously. He’ll be in NFL+ condition.

At 33, he has not taken the physical beating of a 10-year NFL veteran tight end.

Jags coach Urban Meyer was the Gators coach for the national championships. He knows Tebow inside and out, and he’s picking the players. This was part of his agreement to become the Jags coach. If he wants to give Tebow a shot, there is a reason.

Tebow is SUPER popular to this day in North Florida.

I wish him all the best.

Post the links and I’ll do it.

He’s a good pick for so many reasons - that lack of wear & tear is a good point, and what he brings in his personality & care. Remember how he’d walk around the stadium & rouse the Gator fans?

Detractors misunderestimate him at their peril!

Noble, my man. Ok hold on, here is the enabling authority which you should quote heavily in your inquiry, and I'll scope out the links you need in the next post. Someone I know (lol) did this to Kenny Stills of the Texans, when he got uppity po'testing St. Bre.

NFL Personal Conduct Policy (will open a PDF)

"Conduct by anyone in the league that is illegal, violent, dangerous, or irresponsible puts innocent victims at risk, damages the reputation of others in the game, and undercuts public respect and support for the NFL.

Players convicted of a crime or subject to a disposition of a criminal proceeding (as defined in this Policy) are subject to discipline. But even if the conduct does not result in a criminal conviction, players found to have engaged in any of the following conduct will be subject to discipline. Prohibited conduct includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Actual or threatened physical violence against another person
  • Violent or threatening behavior toward another employee or a third party in any workplace setting
  • Stalking, harassment, or similar forms of intimidation
  • Conduct that poses a genuine danger to the safety and well-being of another person
  • Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL personnel.

Investigations – Whenever the league office becomes aware of a possible violation of the Personal Conduct Policy, it will undertake an investigation, the timing and scope of which will be based upon the particular circumstances of the matter. Any such investigation may be conducted by NFL Security, independent parties, or by a combination of the two. In cases that are also being investigated by law enforcement, the league will work to cooperate with and to avoid any conflict or interference with the law enforcement proceedings.

In conducting investigations, the league office will make reasonable efforts to safeguard requests for confidentiality from witnesses and others with information. In addition, the league will not tolerate any retaliation against anyone who in good faith reports a possible violation or provides truthful information during an investigation.

In investigating a potential violation, the league may rely on information obtained by law enforcement agencies, court records, or independent investigations conducted at the direction of the NFL. League and team employees including players are required to cooperate in any such investigation and are obligated to be fully responsive and truthful in responding to requests from investigators for information (testimony, documents, physical evidence, or other information) that may bear on whether the Policy has been violated. A failure to cooperate with an investigation or to be truthful in responding to inquiries will be separate grounds for disciplinary action."

Reporting – Clubs and players are obligated to promptly report any matter that comes to their attention (through, for example, victim or witness reports, law enforcement, or media reports) that may constitute a violation of this Policy. Clubs are expected to educate their employees on this obligation to report. Club reports should be made to NFL Security or Adolpho Birch of the Management Council legal staff. Questions about whether an incident triggers a reporting obligation should be directed to Adolpho Birch or Lisa Friel of the league office.

Failure to report an incident will be grounds for disciplinary action. This obligation to report is broader than simply reporting an arrest; it requires reporting to the league any incident that comes to the club’s or player’s attention which, if the allegations were true, would constitute a violation of the Personal Conduct Policy It is important to remember that the obligation to report is a continuing one, and is not satisfied simply by making an initial report of an incident. The obligation includes reporting on a timely basis all information of which a club or player becomes aware. If a club learns additional information, including but not limited to information regarding the nature of an incident, the identity of witnesses, statements regarding the incident (including by the accused), or the existence of evidentiary material (such as documents, electronic communications such as emails or text messages, medical reports, photographs, audio or video recordings, or social media activity), it must promptly report that information to the league office.

Anyone who believes that he or she is a victim of conduct that violates the Personal Conduct Policy or who learns of or witnesses such conduct is strongly encouraged to report the matter to the club league office. Reports will be addressed promptly and confidentially, and the Critical Response Teams will be available to address issues regarding victim and family security and other support services. Any player with questions regarding either this reporting obligation or any other aspect of this Personal Conduct Policy may contact his club’s Director of Security, Director of Player Engagement, the NFLPA, or the NFL Management Council."

Ok working backwards here, here is how Kenny's transgressions (LOL) came to light, by manthreading these NFL accounts:

BTW, it worked. Now to aggregate the bounty threats...this may take a while...

There is an amazing photo of Tebow and Mark Sanchez. Sanchez looks like a hobbit compared to Tebow. Today, as a tight end, the possibilities are endless. Just imagine a double reverse play, Tebow ends up with the ball, appears to be running the ball, and throws it down the field to a wide open receiver.

Great link, and so relevant today (8 1/2 years later):

// And Tebow, the unfortunate subject of all this hostility, continues to remain solid and consistent with his reactions. He’s a leader and a good person and has remained strong under the most difficult circumstances.

I chatted with him about coming to the Jets when I played in his celebrity golf event in April. I voiced my concerns and talked to him about the New York market, how tough it could be for an athlete under the Big Apple spotlight, and what he could expect.

He’s a positive guy and our conversation reinforced the fact that he would be strong enough, mentally, to handle all kinds of challenges. //

-AND THIS GEM, which we all knew-

// Like I told him back in April, Jacksonville would have been such a better fit! //
