Despite man's best efforts -- and they are really outdoing themselves in these obvious efforts to effect evil and chaos right now -- I can be at peace within myself because and only because God is over all. I am, or will be, able to be content regardless of circumstances (as Paul wrote); able to be flexible and to find joy in nature's tiniest details.

All of Romans 8 fits our present situation, but in particular verses 37 - 39:

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing,
will be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am convinced that in the worst situation, God -- knowing me as He does! :o) -- will provide some detail, some new insect or a tiny flower in the most improbable place to bring me, if not joy, then at least a reminder of His Providence both internally and externally.

I remind myself of these facts in the midst of the chaos and sorrow. I "pray without ceasing" (because I am human, and I must!); "in prayer and petition for all the saints", for those who seek Him (Heb 11: 7), and yes, for leaders at all levels and those crazy and downright evil situations they put us into.


Consider the universe in a grain of sand, or in the most humble "weed" -- in this case, not only nectar, but also larval plant for the White peacock, the Buckeye, and the Phaon crescent. ...and it makes a dandy ground cover....and btw, (untreated) dollarweed is edible.
