Good God.
When I first saw the title, I thought it said “...Woke Zone Awareness Week...”
I know. It is a nonsensical interpretation....It took me a second to read it correctly.
Two thoughts: I have come to detest any government sponsored Day/Week/Month endeavor apart from something like Memorial Day. I can’t stand that stuff, and now it makes my hackles rise when I see it, just as my hackles now rise when I see flags at half mast all the time.
Secondly, I cannot imagine a more useless, worthless, nonsensical waste of life than one lost because someone is texting or using a phone.
Let’s face it-the only REAL distracted driving is done as a result of smart phones. Sure, people may be consulting a map, changing a radio station, trying to reset their trip meter, or dealing with unruly kids in the back seat, but the fact is, most of the time it is people sending/reading texts or engaging in other cell phone activities.
What a terrible thing, to do something like that to someone and their family, and have to live the rest of your days with it.
It cost her a grand and a couple months in jail. Homicide as a misdemeanor.
