I consider the 14th amendment something that should only have been temporary. It effectively centralizes Federal power by giving the Federal government the authority to determine cosmic law or whatever the popular Whim of equality is. Nonsense like Critical Race Theory is the result of that.

It was written to undo the compromise with evil made to win the Revolutionary War. Slavery had to go and the 14th amendment ended it and eventually evened things out about as even as it can get . It now only serves to eviscerate the 10th.

The enormous powers of the 13th-15th Amendments were granted to congress . . . not scotus. The 17th Amendment spayed the Senate and scotus has since filled the void.
