All life on earth is carbon based.
Is there anything the left pushes that isn’t a hoax?

Quantum alchemy. Sells better.

The military needs something like this I f they carry through with plans for electric vehicles. In places like Afghanistan, where it's very expensive to get gasoline supplies out into the middle of nowhere, a base could have one of these to recharge electric vehicles and drone aircraft.

How big a city/town will 10 megawatts support? From the referenced paper:
A single 10 MW NB can power some 7000–8000 homes, a large shopping mall, or a midsize data center, or produce enough desalinated fresh water for over 150,000 people.
Bitcoin miners take note.

Geez, and here I thought driving a Ford Pinto to college every day was dangerous. Just think, one rear-end collision in a nuclear battery-powered car results in a mini-Chernobyl.
(Does this post really need a /humor tag?)

...you didn’t read the fine article, my FRiend! ;-)
It isn’t really a true battery at all, it is a tiny, tiny nuclear powered electrical generator: one that fits into the size of a regular shipping/truck container.
From the article:
“This nuclear battery concept is really a different thing because of the physical scale of these machines—about 10 megawatts. It’s so small that the whole POWER PLANT is actually built in a factory and fits within a standard container. The idea is to fit the whole power plant, which comprises a microreactor and a turbine that converts the heat to electricity, into the container.”
(emphasis uppercase added)

The same jokers who protested new nuclear plant construction support the anti-carbon agenda. Both agendas were, are, and always will be phony. And if they're told to, the same stooges will swing back into anti-nuke battery mode.
That's merely the political side of it of course. Sounds like the Chinese have made another breakthrough and the PR campaign has already started. :^)
