The only way that Coronaviruses are related to influenza viruses is that they’re both viruses. That’s it. The former is a double-stranded rna virus and the latter is a single-stranded rna virus. No, they’re not ‘strains’ of each other. They’re not even in the same Phylum.

Exactly right! SARS-CoV-2 is as closely related to Influenza as humans are to snails.

You forgot about the fact that both viruses are described as producing very similar—sometimes indistinguishable—symptoms.
