In Milwaukee the Marquette Warriors became the Golden Eagles. The alumni were pissed and nobody had complained about the name, the school just went PC on their own.

Because no one was ever a warrior except Indians. (I will not use that offensive term.)

Use some Romans or Spartans or even Japanese “warriors”.
