In the wake of a holiday travel week and the growing spread of the Delta variant, local reports are coming in with a bit more frequency of fully vaccinated people testing positive for COVID-19 and even getting sick. Public health officials aren't yet sounding alarm bells or talking about new lockdown orders, but don't be surprised if there's some sort of change with mask guidance in SF's future.

This is not unexpected as the vaccines are 95% effective and not 100%. But they are near 100% effective in preventing severe disease and death in the vaccinated from COVID-19.

So is the idea that the vaccine worked because it could have been worse?

No—this denotes a vaccine failure, but she only had mild disease. Massachusetts just reported 71 deaths from covid in 71 fully vaccinated people.
But does that still fall under the 5% risk of the 95% promise of protection? (With the mRNA ones at least)?
The Vaccine is not protection from Covid and those that are vaccinated and acting so carelessly are the reason it is spreading.
I don’t believe that people’s “careless” behavior has anything to do with it allegedly spreading.
Far more plausible explanations are that the vaccine just s8mply doesn’t work as advertised and the influx of disease carrying illegals who have not been quarantined nor vaccinated has more to do with it.
It would be interesting to see the demographic breakdown of these alleged cases. And I say alleged because it depends on what they are using to test for COVID. Are they still using the 90% false positive PCR test?

Possible but if they are on record as being injected the CDC wants to use <=28 cycles rather than 40-45 cycles. They really don’t want to see Covid in vaxxed people

The recent calls for a third (or more) shot already only six months into this has convinced me thoroughly not to get any shots at all.
These people have absolutely no idea what the hell they’re doing...
