Wouldn’t it be better for her (or both of you) to talk to both sets of grandparents? They are often founts of wisdom and experience (if you were fortunate enough to have had good parents). Or maybe to your pastor or priest? Or perhaps a family counselor?

Good luck to you and your wife, Kryton.

Nutrition-wise, I was going to mention Vit D which is in this link by Qiviut.
Good idea for the mother to get Vit D level checked and start on folic acid or a prenatal vitamin before conception.

I liked the Focus in the Family guide to parenting/child rearing. It was good for coordinating physical, psychological, developmental and spiritual aspects of life.

My husband and I married and started our family a little late and I was scared a professional woman like me wouldn’t handle the early stages very well. Luckily, God gives women hormones that make them feel maternal, so it works out. Love kicks in exactly as it’s supposed to.

Also, I did not see until the baby arrived that this is much less of a project to be managed and much more of a relationship that grows.

Best wishes as you start your journey. Trust God and each other. You will not be the world’s best parents, but you will be a happy family with more love than you knew your heart could hold. God bless.

no one ever regrets bringing children into the world

Not exactly. There are moments when a mother with 2 or 3 year old pre-school boys has some regrets. And there are moments when a family has to deal with a teen aged girl. And there are moments when an elderly mother wonders why none of her children never visit her or even bother to call her. Overall, most people are very happy they did.
