Arookie police officer in Glasgow, Scotland, was recently embarrassed to discover that the "drone" she thought was pursuing her on her way to a shopping center was actually just the planet Jupiter. Local news outlets report that the embarrassing mix-up has become the talk of her station.
The Daily Record reported Saturday that the officer left her station around midnight Tuesday when she first saw the bright light she believed to be a drone. She attempted to "lose the drone" on her way to a local shopping center; however, she failed. Afraid, she eventually called the general complaints number for Police Scotland to report that she was being followed by a drone and "couldn't lose it."
The operator working the complaints line told the officer to return to her station where she could meet with a senior officer.
When the senior officer looked up at the light, they realized that the drone she'd been afraid of was actually just Jupiter.

I don’t expect she’ll live that one down any time soon.
I noticed recently that Jupiter was spying on me too when I let my dog out at about 5:30 in the morning.
Oops. Nevermind.
Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean the Jovians aren’t spying on you.
Angie Dickinson she’s not.
I wonder if that courtesy would have been given to a white male.
I hope so, but I wonder.
Good Lord how in the world is someone this dumb given a badge and a gun? I’m curious as to why this officer hadn’t noticed the ‘’blood moon’’ of late.
Last night I was observing the Moon. It was glowing a reddish orange. It has been for most of the week.
I knew a guy who was standing watch in the Navy, late at night, and saw a red light on the horizon that wasn’t changing bearing. He called the quartermaster to the deck, who informed him that it was Mars.
She’s lucky Uranus wasn’t following her.
Well those Jovians are sneaky !
She forgot to read her horoscope
Jupiter has generally been associated with good luck and bounty. Optimism and growth (including mental and spiritual growth)
Jupiter is associated with a sense of humor, good will, and mercy.
And so on
Back in the 70s when UFOs were a big topic around here I had a friend who swore that there was a bright light following her car. If there are twists and turns in the road it can appear to be moving about. She was seriously pissed when I showed her that it was Sirius.
Now this is funny.
One time, I, too, had an instance of mistaking the moon for a spotlight. 3 am or so, on a cross-country drive, in the middle of BFE. I was in freeway hypnosis. The laugh broke me up in laughter.
I’m still here, but I do remember being dog tired and seeing that bright thing.
I was looking at Jupiter the other evening low in the sky to the east. It appeared extremely bright to the point I first thought it was an approaching aircraft. After a few seconds, I realized it was not moving so I checked my FlightAware App and then Skyview to see it was indeed Jupiter.
Paranoids are following me.....................
