And today’s pertussis is known to be less severe than the original strain I contracted in 1946, yet, pertussis is added to diphtheria and tetanus.
Come to think of it, DPT is one of the most mandated and re-administered vaccines, since a lot of people have need for tetanus throughout their lives due to puncture wounds. And yet, I recall numerous *pertussis outbreaks* at private schools in my former county of residence. Never hear of diphtheria in the US anymore, though. SMH.
