That’s how we got our beagle, Lucky. Step son was leaving our house and saw a someone dump a beagle. We took it to the shelter, wife started worrying about him and he ended up being ours.
if i could have found and caught him, I would have kept him, and I don’t even like beagles! Poor dog.
