It ain’t just Tacoma. Our neighborhood in Reno has been seeing a rash of them. Quite a few on camera. Some even around 6:00 a.m. Hydraulic floor jack, battery recip saw. Boom gone. Of course if you have a garage perhaps clean it out and park in it. Unless you have a chevy EV. Do NOT park them in enclosed areas. Hear local scrap yards are paying $250-$300 for them. Why aren’t they balking at buying them? Probably because they’re getting double when they resell? Anyone? Bueller?
They require my photo ID and fingerprints just to by my crushed beer cans in Indiana. One would think trafficking in cats would be a tad more difficult. Who knows? Maybe the auto manufacturers are the end market. Won’t be long till microchips are all the rage for thieves.
