I have been in a Wal Mart in Virginia within the last 3 weeks and made notice of the complete lack of pork and chicken. I don’t mean a few bare spots, I mean complete sections devoid of cellophane and styrofoam packages of every cut.
The price of beef is $18 a pound and a pack of 4 nice steaks at Costco is approaching $90.
None of this is normal and even though my household makes a good buck we will never be buying 4 steaks at those prices.
There has not been a lot of chicken (wasn’t looking for anything else so can’t attest to availability of other meats). I walked he meat section for 10 minutes and finally found a small section w/chicken and it was only Tyson—nothing else. I was very surprised.
