A devout atheist and 'humanist chaplain' at Harvard University is set to lead the progressive university's collection of religious leaders.
Greg Epstein, 44, has been named president of the chaplains for the religious community at the Ivy League School. Epstein, who has served as Harvard's 'humanist chaplain' since 2005 is a devout atheist and caters to fellow nonreligious believers as well as agnostics and humanists at the Cambridge, Massachusetts, school.
Epstein, who was raised in a reformed Jewish household in Queens, New York, said his elevation to the position is meant to be inclusive of larger and larger numbers of Americans and especially progressive Harvard students who identify as spiritual but not religious.

He’s been a chaplain there for 15 years. He raises money for them. Maybe more than the actual religious chaplains do.
A fool says in his heart that there is no God.
A hospital hires a specialist in prostate cancer to cater to the 50% of their customers who are male.
A hospital hires an ob/gyn to cater to the 50% of their customers who are female.
A college should hire a chaplain to cater to whatever percentage of their students are religious.
Noticing that 40% of the students are not religious, really should not alter that.
Our forefathers read their Bibles. We do not.

My joke-not-a-joke for a long time is that theology professors tend to be gay atheists. Not sure why that is.
My suspicion is that they pursue it hoping to find an angle, a loophole. Something like that.
Harvard really shouldn’t stop there. Might as well ruin the whole place. Appoint someone who believes the Earth is flat to head the Astronomy Department. Appoint someone who speaks only German to head the Spanish Department, etc.
He raises money for that 41 billion dollar organization designed to educate 22,000 students.
That clearly qualifies the atheist to be a chaplain.

So, humanism has its own chaplain at Harvard.
I’m guessing that in the Kingdom to come, this guy’s out of a job.
