And NO WAY that was a suicide vest.
There were a lot of explosives left behind by the military. I’m sure they’ll be upping their game.
a lot of it was the blast seemed to funnel thru the “canal” they were standing in wi 4’-5’ high banks
It was a car bomb, parked in the same spot for a couple days.
So much so that I doubt that was how it happened. Remember, Timothy McVeigh, with a whole Ryder truck and 4,000 lb. of explosives only managed to kill 168 people, while this thing murdered 170 Afghans plus 13 U.S. service members, for a total of 183 victims. Something more is going on here.
I served 26 years in the Army with 20 in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal field, my last tour in Iraq in 2010 I did post blast investigations/reconstructions. My partner I worked with in Iraq is in Kabul right now, I communicated with him yesterday. His initial thought from hearing the explosion was a VBIED. Apparently is was a suicide bomber strapped with about 50-100lbs of semtex or C-4. Yes a bomb that size could easily create that much damage and destruction in a very crowded area, especially if nails or ball bearings were added. The British were responsible for the Bomb Disposal school that taught the trade to the Afghani Army so yes there are tons of plastic explosives left behind.
