County health officials across Montana are grappling with a new state law that says they can’t treat vaccinated and unvaccinated people differently. Health officials and school districts working to keep students in the classroom could face a difficult choice: Follow Montana law, or follow recommendations from federal health agencies.
The debate boils down to how health officials respond when someone who has been exposed to COVID is vaccinated or unvaccinated.
Montana legislators this spring passed House Bill 702, which says businesses, employers and governmental entities can’t treat people differently based on their vaccination status. That means if an unvaccinated person is told to quarantine because they’re a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case, a vaccinated person must be told to do the same.

What has Montana Public Radio so worked up is that the Montana legislature has passed, and the governor has signed a bill banning discrimination based on vaccination status.
This is far more effective than executive orders, and has the added benefit of leveraging existing laws against discrimination against all sorts of different classes of people against the draconian measures being taken to coerce people into taking the covid vaccine.
Republicans control 23 state governments. Montana has already written the bill for them. IMHO, this should receive much wider coverage.

Hat tip to FReeper TexasGurl24 who was posting about this on a couple of threads yesterday.
As the CDC is not a legislative body, and, much as they want to have the power of a communist Central Committee, the states have the power.
Was pretty sure the Bill of Rights make it clear that any power not explicitly granted to the federal government was to be left to the CDC and certainly not the states or the people. Its from the penumbra part of the Bill of Rights that overrides the 9th and 10th amendments in the written part.
“Follow Montana law, or follow recommendations from federal health agencies.” Hmmmm, law or recommendations???
Here, how about Montana passing a law that allows for the sale and possession of Marijuana while federal law (which is way more compelling than some recommendation)prohibits it.
Not seeing the writer having an issues with that.
Exactly.
And now they should act.

White Coat pfascists grappling.
Vaccinated drinking fountains

Unvaccinated drinking fountains
No hoods on these White Coats are there?
I’m pretty much moved on from marveling at how power-mad the left is.
This is one of the few actual, practical and effective steps that I’ve seen where our red state legislatures are pushing back. This may not be a panacea, but at least it’s a step in the right direction.
And the absolute madness is that people who have been injected are stiil getting sick and carry a heavier viral load, and even if you believe the injection is safe and effective it wears off in short order leaving the injected person as much or even more vulnerable than the non-injected.
This is not about safety.
Let’s see...
CDC recommendations?
State LAW?
I do believe LAW wins over “recommendations”.
My only question is why aren’t the other 22 red states passing this law?
If not now when?

Need to get this to the Texas legislators!
They are in special session, and gov Abbott is continuing the sessions till the agenda gets passed, so we need this added in.
HB24 is in the pipeline. It was filed by Candy Noble. It would do essentially the same thing as Montana’s Law.
Contact your legislator and ask them to move forward with HB24.

Many thanks; firing up the email engine now...
I’m not sure what the prob is.
“Recommendation” - “Guidance” - look those words up in the dictionary.
Those are “shoulds” not “must dos”.
Use judgement.
You can't have vaccine passports without having the vast majority vaxxed.
Once they get the public used to a passport system, it will be easy to add other criteria.
Your IP address shows you read FreeRepublic.
Your donations to Trump
Your attendance at a Right Wing Trump rally
ETC All of these activities show you do NOT support the Biden and Harris agenda. You are ordered to report to your assigned Community Organizer who will develop a plan to reeducate you.
Until you meet the Community Organizer's action plan to correct your transgressions, your bank accounts are locked along with your credit cards and a suspension of your driver's license.
Any further delays will require you to report to a reeducation camp. You really do NOT want to go there. Graduation rates for white right wingers like you are very low. Failure means further corrections at other facilities which are even harder to get out of.
It all starts with virus passports which will quickly morph into CCP style social scores.
It is bizarre to me that lefties just don’t get that...the CDC is a thing, not a legislative branch.
