Looks like all those bogus posts have disappeared. Beau bo, etc.
It appears the mods have regained control.
The weird post seem to have been removed.
Just FYI: the “official response” (John/Jim R.) thread is here:
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3989769/posts
It needed to be said.
So this had to be a DNS server hack.
Somehow one of my passwords (I use different passwords for different sites) was compromised and I began getting email saying they had my password (they did because they included it in the message) and I needed to send them money.
I just changed the password on the site they got it from and then deleted every message they sent (never responding). After a month no more messages.
Unless someone gets my banks password I am not too concerned about the various sites I visit.
No response from Jim yet?
I have continued to question why any FR posts that open a thread should be accepted when the main-post link if for any web site for which you cannot determine who owns it, who runs it, who’s in charge. There are a number of sites that threads are constantly started with on FR where the site being posted identifies nothing - zero - about themselves.
Why should FR permit that, or permit links to such sites in any posts in a thread.
I think the practice is asking for trouble.
Tried signing in through Chrome and it wouldn’t go to the sign in page, I’m here through Explorer - didn’t sign out from last time I used Exp.
