To make the point that this meaningless nonsense is a WASTE of VALUABLE BANDWIDTH. It is NOT comparable to people speaking about such nonsense at a party. The fact you relate it to that speaks volumes about your ignorance of this fact. Words at a party are vapor. This meaningless nonsense takes up valuable data space that costs money.

Truth is you have no idea how much this thread is costing. It’s not your job to determine which posts are worth the bandwidth. Bandwidth is cheap. Free Republic has an owner and several moderators. I trust them to decide which posts are bandwidth worthy and which are not.

You call me a noob. You’re not the first. I’ve been monitoring this site since 1995. I discovered it on the Drudge Report before the Drudge Report eliminated it as a potential threat to that site.
I have been here longer, far longer, than most current registered Freepers. Just not registered. Why?
I was an active-duty combat Marine. I registered well after I retired. When I had a bit more free time on my hands. I’m still a busy guy so, my postings are not as frequent as most.
All of that said, nonsense posts like the one we’re talking about are meaningless, and a total waste of time and bandwidth.

Woodstock happened in the middle of a pandemic. But back in 1969, we didn’t have nearly as many 80 and 90 year olds, or as many obese people. So death toll was lower.
Nobody is making Neil attend any of these concerts.
In some cases, maybe it *is* better to fade away.
