With the new carry law going into effect in Texas today you just know there were gun control types wringing their hands, expecting blood in the streets. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'll bet you there were fewer people shot, and fewer people killed in Texas today than in say Chicago.
All’s quiet in my neck of Texas.
More people were shot in Minneapolis today than in Texas.
Quiet in my part of the wonderful state of Texas.
:)
Open carry?
Quiet in my neck of the woods.
We were all already carrying. Nothing really changed much.
Chicago does that nightly too.
There was a fascist clown here on FR decrying the new law, claiming that only “trained” people have a right to carry a gun and he was vowing to vote against Gov. Abbott for signing it.
Ha I don’t even know if people were aware that the law went into effect, or even that it was passed!
Mostly permitless carry. It’s NOT Constitutional carry, and it’s not full permitless - having your CHL (legally) allows you to carry some places that everyone else can’t.
...or in Texas yesterday !
Say WHAT?!
Somehow the carry law in Texas caused 9 shooting in Portland OR.
I hear what you’re saying.
It’s still a far cry from where they
were.
Well, I’m sure there were some folks shot in the ‘hood, but not by law-abiding citizens. Lefties are sad.
All’s quiet in my part of Texas.
I posted a comment abot this yesterday in another thread, around east Texas it was like nothing changed at all, I was the only person I saw carrying. Not that unusual, we’ve had open carry for those with a LTC for a couple of years, and Isee someone carrying once out of every 2 or 3 trips to town. Don’t think I’ve ever seen 2 people in one day.
Haven’t heard of any shootings, but then I haven’t checked, and don’t expect to find many, except for the usual in the worst sections of democrat run cities like Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. We have bad neighborhoods in the bigger cities where you’ll see shootings at least every weekend, usually related to drugs and gangs.
But nothing like Chicago. Last time I checked, Chicago had over 600 shootings for that year, while Houston, similar in size and population distribution, had just over 200. That was a couple of years ago, but I don’t think it
s changed much.
Anyway, here in my neck of the woods, it was quiet, no change at all from a normal day in east Texas.
