Sorry to hear. Someone at that age and condition should have been under the care of a good doctor.

“ If a caregiver is fully vaccinated, that should be yet another argument in
favor of allowing them with the patient.) “

~~~~~~~
Now that we know from more than one study…
(Thankfully posted all over FR!)
that natural immunity from having had and recovered from Covid-19
(while Unvaccinated) provides 13-17 times better immunity, (depending
upon which study, as well as potentially life long better immunity) to
Covid-19 than the “Vaccines” which we are now told by Fauci will likely
need a 3rd booster shot, five months after the 2nd.
(But it’s going to stop there, right? RIGHT?!!! ;-)
Anyway, THAT should also be an argument in favor of the
unvaccinated COVID-19 recovered also being able to be with the patient.
(Without THEM also having to be experimentally vaccinated!)
What is being done instead, is downright demonic!
You are correct. I consider having recovered from the virus as effective as, or even more effective than, the vaccine.
Hospice. Sad to say it but that is your best option.
My mom is 96 and has had numerous UTIs. I didn’t realize that these infectons can cause mental confusion and other symptoms. Fortunately antibiotics will knock them back in a week or two, and that’s what you need to make sure happens. They’ll test and if a particular strain is resistant to one they’ll switch to a different type. The assisted living place handles all the treatment so hopefully your mom can get stabilized enough she can be back home soon.
We’re supposed to remember that the medical professionals have the best knowledge and have the patient’s care in mind, but the only way to be sure is to politely question and insist on answers.
If the patient can talk, medical people tend to disregard a medical POA, insisting on the patient being able to make their own decision.
an avenue of less resistance is make friends with the hospital’s patient advocate. Notify him/her when you take mom into the ER, and communicate directly with her.
UTI’s generally resolve themselves if it’s minor. Cranberry juice and lots of it. Back to ER if fever. much easier than dealing with diarrhea from antibiotic use.
“By some estimates, 25–42 percent of uncomplicated UTI infections clear on their own.”
Basically...our doc was moonlighting as a Hospice doc. But I noticed he was not treating regular patents “among the living” and would be dismissive more and more. Very disturbing as the years went on.
He was amazing to begin with.
I cannot recommend enough Now brand Cranberry Mannose pills for knocking out a UTI.
// Sis found out, today, that the ADA trumps covid protocols when being an advocate. We are her primary caregivers. //
Thank you for posting that info. This has been a major concern, as we’ve seen next of kin unable to remain with and advocate for their loved ones in their time of need. No telling what is done, or not done, or how patient is being tended, or not.
Blessings to you & your sister with your mom.
Problem is...my mom has said she will NOT leave her home unless it is “feet first”.
She’s not at the point of us having us to get Conservatorship...but we have access to other things.
We’ve been using the AZO cranberry tabs for some time. Pharm friend of mine said for her to take the tabs at night because the urine “pools” in the bladder.
Sorry to be graphic. It is what ot is.
reason to hope.
5 Sept: Yahoo: UK Sun: Woman, 116, recovers from COVID in Turkey
A 116-year-old woman in Turkey has survived COVID-19, according to her son, making her one of the oldest patients to beat the disease.
Ayse Karatay has now been moved to a normal ward, her son Ibrahim told the Demiroren news agency on Saturday.
“My mother fell ill at the age of 116 and stayed in the intensive care unit for three weeks... Her health is very good now and she’s getting better,” he said.
French nun Sister Andre recovered from COVID-19 in February, days before her 117th birthday. She is the world’s second-oldest living person...
Ibrahim said she had only received one shot of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine before she became sick, adding that she was probably infected by a family member...
Sorry to hear. I pray that she fully recovers. I do understand how serious these things go since I have been through it several times now.
I don’t think you know what hospice is. Mom does not have to leave her home. Hospice is in home end of life care.
However... the medication rules change. Now you can ask for ivermectin and they will give it to you.. non of those stupid living rules...
