Before you go on the battlefield tour visit the Visitor Center and watch the movie, tour the museum and the cyclorama. Also, the tour of the Eisenhower farm was very interesting.

Our two favorite place to eat in the downtown area are the Dobbin House Tavern and the Farnsworth House Inn. The wife and I live about 2 hours away from Gettysburg and visit there at least two or three times a year.

Dobbin House: one of the dessert choices (I am just looking at their menu) is gingerbread with lemon sauce. YUM!
