The Scofield Study Bible, paid for by Jews to make America’s Christians support Zionism, was assembled 1,900 years after Jesus Christ performed His mission on earth and Paul of Tarsus wrote about Jesus’ return in the 4th chapter of the book of Thessalonians. But if you read the whole context of Matthew 24:36-40, you see that it is the one who is taken who is destroyed, and the one who is left who is saved.
Here is the KJV translation.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Here is my understanding,
If we first take v 36 for understanding, we have to ask, is this the Rapture or the Second Coming.
My understanding is that its the Rapture. Here’s why....
When the 7 year tribulation begins, it will be revealed by the signing of a false 7 year covenant between Israel and the antichrist fostering this agreement at the behest of a 10 nation revived Roman empire. Scripture clearly tells us the exact number of days, which is 7 years. (See Daniel 9:24-27)
So at the signing we know to the day the Lords physical return, the Second Coming (Revelation 19: 11-21)
So when Jesus says no man knows the hour or the day, He had to be speaking of the Rapture and not the Second Coming.
