The Who at The Concert For New York City - 2001

October 20, 2001 at Madison Square Garden in New York City in response to the September 11 attacks.

One of the best 30 minutes of rock ever.

"Who Are You?", "Baba O'Reilly", "Behind Blue Eyes", and "Won't Get Fooled Again". One of the last times Entwistle played in concert. Apparently this was not seen by many because of copyright issues at that time. It is only 480p. Does anybody know where a better quality version of this might be?

Could you imagine being Governor George Pataki making a speech after this?

“Behind Blue Eyes” is one of the greatest songs ever done and one that always hits me right in the feels.

Thank you for pasting this.

Does anyone have the link for The Hillary Boos, before they were scrubbed for a cheering crowd?

For Freepers a special time in the Concert fot NY was the speaking appearance of Firefighter Mike Moran. He had lost his dad an FDNY Battalion Chief in the Towers. He gave a real Irish Wake call for action. Freepers knew his dad as Freeper BC Moran.

Buy the DVD on EBay or something similar

I own it and it’s great. Won’t Get Fooled Again is the last song on it and the First Responders in the crowd went nuts for it

I video-taped that concert off the TV. I still have the VHS tapes but nothing to play it on. It was a terrific concert.

It wasn’t a fair fight that night, The Who showed up for keeps and it was crumbs for all the other acts. Sadly one year later The Ox was gone and Simon Townshend joined the band. No disrespect to Simon but his second Guitar allowed Pete to get a bit LAZY / sloppy on Guitar moving forward IMO.
