I have professionally tuned hearing aids ... imo ... the white noise is still noise ... just not tinnitus noise.

I took Biotin for quite a while and it gradually
became less, I still have a hiss but not the bell
ringing. It became very loud and I tried all kinds of
folk remedies but the Biotin seemed to help.

I find that the tinnitus affects my ability to fall asleep and white noise helps with falling asleep.

Yes - swapping one noise for another is not ideal.
Lord, I wish it could just be quiet for 10 minutes.....
