However what they do not say is that it may also be caused by many chemicals, and VOCs

Did you start taking any medications in the months before this started being an issue for you ? many prescription drugs cause tinnitus in a small percentage of the population, after taking them for a few months, but often people do not associate them because of the time delay.
Also important to note is that when you stop taking the drug it may take several months for things to get back to normal.
