In Israel during the first five days of September 15 of the 127 who died from COVID had been vaccinated with three doses.
The media only reports unvaccinated dying not the vaccinated dying.
Pretty safe bet those 15 were mostly if not all very vulnerable persons (1st candidates to get 3rd shot.) I'd say that stat is very strong evidence in favor of the vaccines. It beats the heck out of flu vaccines.
Of note, once most of a population is vaccinated for COVID, the higher the % of the population vaccinated, the more the situation trends toward mainly vaccinated persons getting severe illness or worse. This is not a fault of the vaccine(s), it is just the math: At the end of this trendline, if the population is 100% vaccinated, then by definition all fatalities are of vaccinated persons.
The real number to look at is the recent CFR, assuming no major changes in testing efficiency, and no major delays in fatalities' reporting (a current problem with FL). Just looking at the case curves and fatalities curves, Israel's recent CFR has dropped quite a lot from the previous wave.
