Most people can’t properly format a complex document in Word using styles or do a data sort in Excel. It is amazing how little about using basic software most people know.
I got one for ya. A fellow employee was working on a spreadsheet with several pages of property values (in Quattro Pro IIRC). She was punching numbers in an adding machine. I asked her what she was doing. "I'm adding this column of figures." After a few face palms, I patiently showed her the basic function of a spreadsheet. Some time later I saw her still plunking on the adding machine. I gave up.
