That was my pov as well. The show began with Rick in the hospital bed, waking up to a world that had completely changed. He was our introduction to this world; and, it was mainly thru his eyes that we saw the drama unfold.
From my POV, it was Rick's story. When Rick left, the story ended for me. I stopped watching at that time and haven't looked at it since.
I saw a teaser for the new series “The Walking Dead: World Beyond”. Apparently Jadis, the leader of the junkyard kids, will be starring.....She was the one responsible for Rick being kidnapped.
