Hiker’s 911 call on Brian Laundrie released: ‘I’m telling you, it was him’

A hiker on the Appalachian Trail told a 911 dispatcher that he was “99.99 percent sure” that he spoke with Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie, a newly released recording reveals.

“I’ll meet somebody out there if they want to,” Dennis Davis, 53, told the Haywood County, North Carolina, Sheriff’s Office dispatcher. “I’m telling you, it was him.”

He told the dispatcher the stranger was “talking wild” and “acting funny,” the recording shows.

Davis, an engineer from Florida, told The Post this week that he was driving on Waterville Road Saturday morning when he was flagged down by a man who was “talking wild.”

Laundrie, 23, disappeared in mid-September while being sought for questioning in the death of his girlfriend, Long Island native Gabby Petito, during the couple’s cross-country trip.

Chad Nesbitt asked about Thomas Laundrie who was thought to be the grandfather of Brian Laundrie. Chief Gallagher interrupted Mr Nesbitt and said, “It’s not the Grandfather. It’s the Uncle. It’s his Uncle not his Grandfather.”

Nesbitt then asked about a Jennifer Laundrie that records show lives at the Thomas Laundrie home. A long silence occurred and then a Captain Morrison Brown interupted Chief Gallagher and said, “You are asking a lot of questions and as I said before this is an on going investigation that is pretty much closed. The FBI will provide any additional information you may need.”

That location is hours east of the Appalachian trail, and that’s by car. He may have been on foot for the first week or two, but I think he is starting to unravel and changing his MO

Law enforcement at all levels has been incompetent in surveilling, tracking, and apprehending Laundrie. It eventually will be a private citizen who captures the scumbag.
