No, they won’t have to pay his contract. Most NFL contracts include some kind of morality clause where if you are fired for cause, you lose your pay. Otherwise they would be on the hook for his guaranteed money. I have to believe that his contract included a morality clause. Not being woke is going to be upheld as cause for firing and non-payment in any court in the land.
His net worth is $30 or $40 million. He is going to come out OK.

You claim that there might be a morality clause but the coach is being punished for speech that wasn’t considered verboten by the leftists when he was hired and may not be spelled out in his contract.

He was sending them to Bruce Allen’s corporate account with the Redskins. They were uncovered during the investigation into the Redskins hostile work environment lawsuit. And it included Allen sending Gruden nudes of the cheerleaders. Just all around dumbness.
If he were a LEFTIST coach ( phil jakson, greg popovich, peter “the cheater” carroll, steve kerr , et al ), the press would be 100% on his side, and he wouldn’t need to worry....

You make assumptions about his politics. Meanwhile there’s a massive paper trail of him being an ass regardless of what his politics are. And let’s face it, he’s not that great a coach. Every one of those coaches you mentioned have more success that him. Success breeds tolerance. Maybe if his teams got to the playoffs more than 1/3 of the time they’d have tried to weather the storm.

You may be right, but I believe leftist coaches wouldn’t be fired for such statements, even if they weren’t consistent winners. All a leftist has to do is “apologize”( insincerely, as we know that leftists are the very racists they j’accuse us of being ), and they skate.
7 years and 650,000 emails of slagging off everybody in football with all the slurs available isn’t going to be easy to forgive. And then of course there’s the stupid. When the Redskins lawsuits started he had to know this was going to come out. If not with the trials then with the NFL investigation. Because part of what the lawsuits claimed was that the Redskins coerced cheerleaders into nude photos, and part of those emails was Bruce Allen sending Gruden nude photos of Redskins cheerleaders. This whole thing was a ticking bomb he had to know was going to explode and he STILL took a coaching gig. That level of stupid right there is firable.
