As an Army veteran and a former police officer, I will admit there have been times when I was scared, once to the point I threw up. Some of those experiences occurred with other men, but it never had to be discussed between us. Now kids brag about being frightened like children because it’s a badge of honor. It’s controlling and enduring those feelings that made us feel like men. How do these sniveling cowards feel about themselves? How do they muster the courage to look in a mirror? It’s being like them that would frighten and confuse me.
