Did you see the ant-like crowds of people scurrying to their cars and speeding off?
I sure as hell would have been one of them.
I just had a dream a couple of nights back where I came out of a tunnel under a big city (it was a dream, so I have no idea what city) only to see a massive conical volcano probably ten miles away in the throes of a violent eruption, and it was damned vivid. (for some reason, I had the impression it was Mount Hood)
I stopped in the middle of the highway gawking, and saw others get out of their cars and begin videoing the unbelievable event.
For a split second, I wanted to take a video too because it was so vivid, the dark wall of white, gray, and black smoke with lightning and bright red and orange mixed in, and at the bottom, it appeared the volcano was coming apart right then and there. My immediate thought was “What the Hell am I thinking?”
Then, I saw a giant lahar sweeping my way across the short plain and up the miles long hill that ran straight towards the volcano...shouting “S**t! S**t! S**t!) I did a U-turn and floored it, squealing the tires, my eyes glued on my rear-view mirror.
I saw it sweeping up the hill in my wake, engulfing the stopped cars whose drivers had been videoing the event, and I woke up.
It was very vivid, and I lay there for a few moments thinking of it, and thought “I will never be in that position of videoing something that is going to kill me...”
Nightmarish.
Mount Hood has had some minor rumblings last couple of days.
The city would have been Portland. Stay out of Portland.
MT Hood had 11 swarms of earthquakes on Oct. 18th-19th...I live @40 miles from it.
Don’t like your dream.
Well if ever a post made me wonder if someone had lived before and died in a volcanic eruption that was it.
I’m always reading about Vesuvius, thinking how just horrible that was, and those people had no clue. Had time to get out but no knowledge of what was going to happen.
I always feel bad for the poor animals.
