Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Medical Profession:
I’m old enough to remember when physicians were held in regard like deacons. Medicine was understood to be “not just a profession but a calling” (as the cliché ran). It was not uncommon to see a car parked haphazardly with a “Physician on Call” sign on the dashboard, and no one gave it a second thought, such was the regard for medical doctors. Watch re-runs of MASH for fine illustration of how this “calling” was once understood to act as a special moral beacon within society.
Of course I noticed how many of them were Jewish. Perhaps it was for that reason that I gravitated to a number of great Jewish professors. I gravitated to them because they seemed normal to me, and they seemed normal. Brilliant. Smart. Sane. They said one sentence, then another sentence, and I understood why the second sentence followed from the first. They were unlike other humanities professors, who spoke in jargon bordering on incantations.

I did not read the article but if a Dr. told me the sun was out..I would check to make sure..any Dr. that told me a kid should get the shot ..I would leave his office...Covid has destroyed the medical profession

The creation of and the response to COVID-1984 exposed what had already happened in the medical profession. It's going to take GENERATIONS for that profession to earn any trust.

It was an excellent article.
I think there’s a good argument to made for that. After all, they didn’t alter the Hippocratic oath because of COVID. That was done years ago, after they consented to administer abortions where there was no medical necessity. Since that was a violation of the original oath, they simply deleted the offending phrase, rather than hold true to the oath, their morals, and their duty.
Perhaps if they had stood firm then, they would have still had the fortitude to stand firm today, but once you start compromising to please the world, you will usually keep doing it every time the world makes a new demand.
Correction: Covid has exposed the medical profession. We can all now see how corrupt that institution has become.
