Since Christianity is based on the same OT as the jewish faith, and believes in the same God, what’s the problem regarding marriage cerimonies? Christians simply add to that message the salvation message brought by the death and resurrection of Jesus, God in the flesh, the son of God and the son of man.

Having a text in common does NOT make one a Jew. If both parties are not Jewish, it is not a valid Jewish marriage. Children from such a marriage, if the woman is the non-Jew, are NOT JEWISH. They cannot be enrolled in Jewish schools, go through Jewish ceremonies, etc.

The marriage ceremonies should remain fine, in that a rabbi is not really needed for a marriage.

The use of an officiant is actually an idea we Jewish folk picked up from gentiles.

In fact, in Israel, it’s not uncommon (not common, either) for stupid kids to haul off and get married without consent of anyone.

Latter Day Saints maintain that they believe both the Old and New Testaments, with both subject to the Book of Mormon. That doesn't mean a Christian would want one pretending to be a priest or Protestant Minister performing weddings.

Simple act of fraud. I find it interesting that this worked so long in Phoenix, as there is a substantial Orthodox Jewish Community around north Glendale and they pride themselves on knowing other Jews very well.
