Henry Ruggs III was driving his Corvette 156 miles per hour seconds before allegedly causing a fiery car crash Tuesday that left a 23-year-old woman dead, Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Eric Bauman said in court Wednesday, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Ruggs, the former Raiders receiver who was cut by the team Tuesday night and is facing felony DUI charges, also had a blood alcohol content of .161, Bauman said, according to the Las Vegas Sun. That is more than twice the state’s legal limit of .08.
Bauman said the speed of Ruggs’ vehicle was 127 mph when the airbags were deployed, and that a dog was killed in the crash.

The Corvettes have onboard data recording capability.
156 mph is scary fast.
I’d say he was suicidal.
If he wasn’t before he might be now.
Per the above, a gun was also found in the car.
Dead vic has been ID’d...

I hope the family sues the NFL.
This kind of smear job annoys me.
Seriously the impact speed was nowhere near 100mph let alone what they are claiming,
was the Rav a sitting target ? if not, how fast was it moving ?
was the driver of the Rav drunk too ?
if they are going to release the black box data from the corvette, they should release the black box data from the rav.
(not that it ever should have been released at all)
Makes me wonder if tesla has camera footage of every crash involving a tesla, maybe musk keeps it in a “white-male-favor-file? but then maybe he has a black-male-file and other gender files too, you know inclusiveness and everything
“I hope the family sues the NFL.”
For what reason ?
Please enlighten me on your reasoning, I cannot quite get a grasp on it.
Because I think the NFL might know something about the perp. Might have done something for the perp that allowed him to do what he did.
The only way the family will ever find out what the NFL knew and when it knew it is by suing.
I hope they do.
I bet discovery would be very enlightening.
It wouldn’t be the first time the NFL covered for players breaking the law.
They can also ding him for the dog.
Here’s hoping.
Maybe the firearm, too...
Most Freepers aren’t against gun ownership. I don’ see this gun having an part in the loss of life.

If he violated any, add that to the charges.
He lived, is quite young, had a good career in front of him -— but all gone now.
I hope to God the vic wasn’t conscious after he struck her vehicle.
Here’s some diagrams and pics.
A security guard from a nearby building tried to get her out of the car but the flames ran him off.
I agree.
I agree.
I saw that. God bless him for trying.
