Henry Ruggs Was Driving 156 Mph, Had Double Legal BAC Before Deadly Crash: Prosecutor
New York Post ^ | 11/3 | Jenna Lemoncelli

Henry Ruggs III was driving his Corvette 156 miles per hour seconds before allegedly causing a fiery car crash Tuesday that left a 23-year-old woman dead, Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Eric Bauman said in court Wednesday, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Ruggs, the former Raiders receiver who was cut by the team Tuesday night and is facing felony DUI charges, also had a blood alcohol content of .161, Bauman said, according to the Las Vegas Sun. That is more than twice the state’s legal limit of .08.

Bauman said the speed of Ruggs’ vehicle was 127 mph when the airbags were deployed, and that a dog was killed in the crash.

The linked news story says Ruggs and his passenger, long-time girlfriend, were both badly injured in the crash, and that he had “slowed” to 127 mph from the higher speed, sounds like he probably ran into the victim driving at a normal rate of speed so net speed at impact probably nearly 100 mph, this was a residential street where most people would normally drive at 30-40 mph possibly.

Don’t see any real angle where the team or the league are potential parties to a lawsuit. They didn’t get the guy intoxicated, that was his own personal decision.

Especially since the BAC limit is so low in some areas now (.04 in Utah) that the person is not drunk at all. Most people on antidepressants are more impaired than a regular person after one beer. Not to mention virtually every octogenarian.

Yes. If she burned to death while conscious he should never ever see the light of day again.

—”I know many productive, good people that went on to lead exemplary lives after DUI’s.”

How many good and productive people were killed or permanently damaged by impaired drivers.

Their future was taken from them, forevermore.

There are no excuses for such behavior, they should be removed from the population.

A guy I worked for and thought the world of suddenly was gone and left a note that he accepted an overseas position...He had been the homecoming king, his wife was the queen, smart, personable a good guy.
So I thought.

Some years later a friend married the now ex-wife of my old leader.
Turns out he went to jail for beating his wife and daughters within an inch of their life more than once. The State of Illinois locked him up for three full years.

His mother purchased him a house and paid to maintain it and cars too. He was wrecking cars and getting DUIs and jail time. While incarcerated he had a liver shunt and with that accessory, they would not jail him for an extended stay.

Over a dozen DUIs according to the local newspaper, his former wife said that was only from Illinois not out of state.

My friend said I would not recognize him, a big guy he used to look like the Marlboro man; now no teeth, no hair, and mostly bones.
Somehow he survived for a few more years and more traffic accidents...

When finally in hospice none of his former family would even talk to him.

And this is what you want to promote?

About one-third of all traffic fatalities (~10,000/year) are from drunk drivers.

That means there must be a Henry Ruggs 1 + a Henry Ruggs ll.

No, not necessarily. There must be a Henry Ruggs I and a Henry Ruggs Jr. but Henry Ruggs II isn't needed.

Henry Ruggs II is only used when the baby is given the same name as an ancestor who is not the father, e.g., uncle, grandfaather.

Some people who are actually juniors like to use the suffix II. But that is not correct. Obama used the II suffix but he used it incorrectly. He probably thought II sounded fancier or Jr. sounded demeaning.

Who said I want to promote anything? I just don’t want good people I have known shot onsite simply for getting pulled over for DUI. You want to kill some of my relatives, and best friend who have since lead great lives? Screw you.

NO, not on site, I do not care about the location, simply when they are caught and when they see them shoot them dead.

And your living friends are worth more drunk than the victims of their drunkness?

With friends like that...

That is totally unreasonable. I don’t think I can get through to you. What you are suggesting is literally insane. It also is a serious violation of the 8th amendment of the Constitution.

“Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.” This amendment prohibits the federal government from imposing unduly harsh penalties on criminal defendants.
