DoD will use the embarrassment to ask for more money to improve “readiness”. But we all know where the money would go, and it wouldn’t be to produce better fighters.

In DC everything is about more money to support the lifestyles of the elites.

It’s my understanding that the areas surrounding D.C. are the most affluent in the country.

That should tell anyone all they need to know about the state of our country

Truth be told, the services do need more money for training, and less money for the new toys (weapons systems) the Generals want.

I remember way back in ‘77 driving my POV out to a site where one of my squads was training in an open field, away from the motor pool. It was in August, and there were no training funds remaining.

I received my additional training by volunteering for temporary duty with a sister battalion participating in Reforger ‘77.

I received some derision from that, but I had the last laugh, when my platoon was the only one of four platoons to pass during a tactical evaluation.
