I just tried sending money via CC and same thing happened. It appears something to do with the country or non-US block. I messed with it to change it to see what it would take and no go.
I’ve been having the same problem for 2 or 3 months. There is no clue or indication what the problem is. I wonder if it is the various cards deciding to not honor payments to sites such as this. But no one has said so.
I would worry about someone getting your credit card information and draining your accounts.

Happened to me two FReepathons ago. A bank that I use wouldn’t process the transaction.
I just used another card. No problem.
