He was a Facebook friend of mine . Class act all the way . Many people don't know he played with The Beach Boys from the 70's and his sister was married to Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys .
His mother died 6 hours after he did in a California hospice .
rip but I have no love for the beach boys.
I don’t recall seeing Billy Hinsche with Dino and Desi when the trio was famous, but at my preteen age, I wasn’t looking that closely anyway. I’d simply heard Lucy’s son had started making his own music, inspired by his dad Desi Sr.
It’s ironic that Billy and Dino have passed before Desi.
Desi was notorious in Hollywood for being a very heavy user of recreational drugs.
You didn’t like their music, or you didn’t like their character?
Same age as me.
I was into music at the time, but never heard of him (or them).

I am old enough to remember. It was the time of the Monkees. Bands put together by recording companies. Celebrities were helping their kids to become pop stars. Gary Lewis (Jerry’s son), Nancy Sinatra. Dino(Martin), DeHirsch. Jr) and Billy hinsche.
Yeah. I always did like that song by Gary Lewis & The Playboys “This Diamond Ring”. It was well produced for a new group. The song even had a full brass section, if I recall.
May both mother and son rest in God’s heavenly peace.
There’s no accounting for taste.
Brian Wilson is one of the greatest musical talents of our time.
RIP, Billy Hinsche. He seemed like a very nice guy, and possibly a Republican too. I remember when he helped Orrin Hatch cut an album.
Exc. photo - thanks for sharing !
