I don’t think they had any around there. Southside city limits but there was still some prairie land around. I never saw a pigeon until I was a teenager and took the train downtown to the library. One pooped on me from the L tracks above me.

And a PS it pooped on me right after I said “I hate Chicago”. I remember it vividly.

Thanks, just got back from breakfast at McD (west coast). No Cracker Barrel around here but I bought a turkey deli sandwich yesterday and put in fridge for today.

Back when I was teaching, I was part of the team that identified families that could use a hand for Thanksgiving. We usually did a decent job at it but once we missed a family. When the kids came back to school, the teacher asked about their meals. One of the kids told teacher they had hot dogs and baked beans, and pumpkin pie.

Maybe that children’s buffet menu will keep Joe away from the kids.

Yeh seriously it did not cost much more than last year. I got a small turkey because there were only five for dinner and I can only eat turkey a day or two and I’m done. I still got stuck with plenty of Leftover turkey sandwich meat anyway.

It’s regional the preferences

I prefer dressing

Though I’ve had decent chestnut stuffing

I can make good dressing but it trouble

I cheat....I have an old black grandma makes mine by the tray in rural Marshall county TN

30 bucks a 13x19 tray about 2.5 inch thick and it’s perfect...

Last time I made it my dad died ...fell into a two week coma...that thanksgiving morning....1998

I always remember that ...the kids ate it...
