They sure were.

Oddly, I’m (where the hell was I? Oh, Navy and then life happened) learning about Rory Gallagher. Glenn and Roy were also some of the best. If you get a chance, check out some Rory stuff too. He was 2 years younger than me so.... but sadly passed away in ‘95 due to complications after a liver transplant. I’d seen Fender signature replica Rory Strats but never really payed much attention. Wish I had.
As a youngster, Glenn was a true prodigy with the guitar. Late in his life, as he was suffering from Alzheimer’s, he still never lost that genius ability with a guitar. Amazing. Plus he was a truly nice man.
A truly great talent taken from us by Alzheimers.
Yep - I wished I could have met him. I have played golf w/ Nicklaus, Joe Namath, Bobby Murcer, Perry Como, and many others. I’d trade them all for a round w/ GC. He meant that much to me.
I’ve been a Rory fan for years. Hell of a guitar player.

You probably have some great stories. There’s a You Tube video of Alice Cooper (they were good friends and golfing buddies) talking about how much respect Glen had in the rock community, it’s well worth a watch.
I’ve watched that video dozens of times. Alice was a true friend. The love he had for Glen seeped out in everything he said throughout the whole interview.
Well, Jerry Reed (in one of the videos) was no slouch either.
GC’s work is criminally underappreciated.
Yep - another that doesn’t get the recognition he deserved.
I thought so too. Alice seems like a really good guy.
Yeah. Well I am now. I feel like friggin’ ‘Rip VanDumbass’ for not knowing. I may have to pick up a few licks from him. I kinda quit playing very much for quite a while and, like I said, life got in the way. One of my oldest friends is Jerry Donahue. You should check him out with the “Hellecasters”. Sadly, several years ago, he had a stroke while he was in LA and wasn’t found for 12 hours so.... He is in a full time care facility and has limited communication ability and limited mobility. Danny Gatten called Jerry the string bending king of the planet. THAT is praise. We went to a fundraiser for him in 2017 in LA. Here’s a link to a video of some of the folks. You can see my head in the bottom left/center with Mrs rktman. We were sitting with Jerry’s daughter.

Have a good weekend.
It has been said thar Prince was the bast Gitter player but I’m not so sure after watching Campbell.
Thanks!!

Nope. Put him and Campbell and Clark together and watch out. Fun stuff.
I thought he was a lineman for the county…
