PORTLAND, Ore. — A new charter school focused on the BIPOC community is coming to the east side of Portland.

The Reynolds School District recently approved the charter for Holla, a nonprofit mentorship program already at work in the district.

Executive director and founder Eric Knox says the curriculum will prioritize minority voices.

“This school is open for any kid -- racially, culturally, whatever -- that wants to be a part of this. But we want to come from a Black, brown and indigenous perspective because that perspective, to be honest with you, isn't heard,” he said.

He says it's in response to inequities made worse by the pandemic and gentrification.

Holla School is on track to open next fall, starting with kindergarten through second grades. Grades third through five will be added in the future.

OK, BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color.

In the 1970s and 1980s, people boycotted South Africa over their Apartheid policies of separating whites and "Persons of Color."

Now POCs are choosing Apartheid?

Pity the white kid whose “woke” parents push him into this school. His day will be pure misery - from the opening bell all the way until dismissal time.

Its once again ridiculous, grasping educrats repacking very old ideas (ever been to a high school on the South side of Chicago? They don’t call it BIPOC) into new packaging, to grift even more money and political influence.

I’ve thought this too for a while now. Our parents and grandparents fought hard to dismantle segregation. Now there are parts of society actively wanting to embrace it. Bizarre.

The literal name of this new charter school is going to be
“Holla”. That should tell a parent all they need to know; Holla, being a slang term for “Holler”, made popular in lower class black vernacular. Ofter used in rap ‘music’.
The presumption being: If you want your child thinking or talking or looking like someone in a Rap Video, put them in this school.

Actually, it seems to be about ALL I am hearing these days.

That's how it looks to me; if you want your kids to be poorly educated, sign up here.

So it’s a prep level iteration of Evergreen College.

Really? Seems like I'm hearing little else these days...and growing very, very tired of it...

Since they endorse segregation they should have a statue of George Wallace and another of Lester Maddox on the campus.
