A man not leaving when told to leave is not a sufficient reason to intimidate him with a gun and then shoot him, especially when he was there to get his rightful legal custody of his son.
The smaller guy should have called the police and had them remove him. No one needed to die over this bunch of stupidity. The son didn't need his father killed.
How does the idiot ex-wife feel? Court orders are to be obeyed, precisely to avoid this kind of thing. “Sorry, son. New daddy killed old daddy because I’m a manipulative c*nt.”

What is clear, is that the shooter had both time and opportunity to dial 911 when he left to get his firearm. We would have to ask him why he did not do that.
That said, it was the shooter’s private property. The angry ex-husband was asked to leave repeatedly, and did not, and made repeated advances while threatening and menacing the shooter and the woman.
Castle doctrine? Stand your ground? I would not vote to convict.

Teal guy should have left the property when told to due so and called the police over the custody order. The gun owner was dealing with an obviously hostile and intemidating INTRUDER. Teal guy was clearly the agressor.

If that were the man's intent, he could have simply done that right away. Even if the little man thought the big guy would hurt him, why did he get up so close to bump chests?
I see the little man as a d@mn hot head who escalated to 11 when the situation didn't call for it. This was a pissing contest. If the little man was afraid, why did he bump chests with the big man?
Stay back 10-20 feet and threaten to shoot if the big man advances. *That* is what a frightened man would have done. This was an angry man.

Well, going upto a person holding a rifle, coming into physical contact, receiving a warning shot and STILL closing in an attempt to take the rifle is DAMN agressive in my sight.

I’ve watched both videos. On one you cannot see the victim as he was shot. But on the other it is pretty clear the victim was standing still and not advancing when the stepdad backed up and shot him. The stepdad should have just gone in the house and called the police. Instead he escalated the argument by going and getting a gun, despite the evidence that the victim wasn’t threatening him or anyone else with physical harm.
