SHOCK CONFESSION Josh Duggar admits he’s ‘not denying guilt’ & insists he used dark web to sell cars during child pornography trial
The US Sun ^ | December 1, 2021 | Teresa Roca

JOSH Duggar made a startling "non-admission" when questioned about alleged child pornography on his work computer in 2019.

In court on Wednesday, audio from an interview with Homeland Security agents conducted with Josh in 2019 was played. At the time, after being presented with evidence, Josh told arresting officers: "I’m not going to say anything that’s going to incriminate me. I’m not denying guilt. I’m not saying if I am guilty or not."

In another audio recording played for the court, Josh was asked by an agent if he was aware of what peer-to-peer was, according to a Sun reporter at the trial.

Josh admitted he was "familiar" with the network and that he knew of something "like a Tor browser."

He claimed in the audio that they would upload "encrypted" stuff for the cars because it was safer.

he agent told him Tor was dark web, while torrents were for peer to peer.

Josh then claimed he didn't know which one was meant and that he was confused.

"We had no idea the Tor browser was used in this investigation," special agent Gerald Faulkner said while on the stand. "Tor makes it difficult to see the IP address.

"The dark web is a known source for child porn. Josh using Tor for car photos makes no sense.

"The dark web is anonymous. The dark web isn’t the best place to sell cars. I never thought to purchase a vehicle on the dark web."

So now avoiding being tracked by cookies is proof of child pornography? Oh, you disabled your cookies on Chrome? You’re still being tracked. Maybe I don’t WANT Google to know that I go on Free Republic!

Not to defend Dugger at all, side point.

There is a Problem with this concept. indirectly TOR and P2P are also on trial here. When folks use P2P they have no clue what the encrypted data is going through their node. And no one should be accountable for this encrypted data passing through because there is no way to know what it is. Just passing on a sealed unopened envelope.

As for TOR it is extremely easy to click on something that looks harmless and find out after it was not harmless. And to demonize TOR would be ignorant, there are also many many “under the radar” Christian sites and harmless sites on the onion network and in the deepweb. Deepweb not to be confused with the darkweb, but can only be accessed with TOR browser also.

And TOR is one of the safest privacy tools available for normal web browsing of the top tier indexed web too. It is not just limited to the scary dirty darkweb as they are saying here.

Yes, that negative association with TOR and P2P is a real concern.

This guy is so screwed. Best thing he can do at this point is go full Fogle, fess up and try to get a sentence that will allow him to be free again at some point in his life.

And also, change his life so that he doesn’t shoot straight to hell afterwards.

I don’t know about selling cars on the “dark web” (how racist) but there are videos on Youtube were people hire musicians to work on projects.

He was given a plea deal and he refused, now he’s at trial. He could still take it but it would be up to the Judge to give him only 10 years. Now he’s looking at 40+.

Jared took the deal he was not stupid.

In many states it is illegal to sell more than a limited number of cars a year without a getting a dealer’s license. Example in Ca it used to be three a year. Probably still is.

That I was not aware of.

I still don’t believe it, however.
How hard could it be to get a dealer’s licenses?

“Yes, that negative association with TOR and P2P is a real concern.”

Hopefully, the evidence is not he used TOR and P2P. They better have some hard evidence like the downloaded files to his computer.

The prosecutor is claiming they have the files, so they need to produce the files and leave Tor/p2p out of it.

Oh man... In many states it is rough, it is like trying to get a contractor’s license, or a Tow Company/Dismantler’s license. You have to have a commercial business location, permits for it, land use approval, all kinds of hoops and fees and permits.

Approval from the local Chamber of Commerce, who’s president happens to be the auto dealer already down the street you will be competing with and doesn’t want you there. Etc. You have to already be rich and hire an attorney to even think about getting a dealer’s license.

I understand now. Thousands of dollars, before you put the shovel in the ground there is no guarantee of approval. Got it.

Problem is, even if you accidentally click a link that ends up “loading” a bad webpage, that page has been downloaded and logged as a downloaded file in your computer. Just that one accidental click and load is considered a download and can be used against you whether you have any actual “Saved” files in your personal file directory or not.

Example... Bet there are very few who have not accidentally been linked to a porn site. This is recorded and from now on they can be accused of viewing porn. Clearing cookies does not get rid of it, it is permanent until you reformat your drive and rewrite over and over with ones and zeros.

Yes, so even primarily moral folks are forced to the blackmarket because of the overreaching rules. There should not be anything wrong or illegal about needing or wanting to privately sell more than the limit in a year.
